Driver's Licence

You must now apply for a provisional driving licence (Learners Permit) before you can learn to drive or get a driver license for a car, moped or motorcycle. You cannot be issued a driver license except you comply with the VIO-DVLA driver license process. If you already hold a valid full driving licence you may need to validate your driver's license now at the nearest Vehicle Inspection Office.
 
Applying for a provisional driving Licence

Apply for your first provisional driving license (Learners Permit) or renewal of a full driver license for a car, moped or motorcycle using the Vehicle Inspection Office and the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Administration (VIODVLA) secured and easy to use website . On completion of your application, you will be issued a unique access code for booking the theory test; you will not be able to book your practical driving test except you pass the theory test .

You can:

  • Apply for your first provisional driving licence
  • Change your address details
  • Get a replacement if your licence has been lost, stolen or defaced

Please have the following to hand:

  • a valid ATM debit or credit card
  • your Nigeria e- passport if you have one
  • National identity card.
  • details of previous addresses

VIO-DVLA aim to send your provisional driving licence to you within 24 hours of you submitting your application online.
